MAAIP is dedicated to establishing Manitoba as an AI powerhouse by empowering professionals through education, resources, and collaboration while advocating for ethical AI practices and fostering strong industry-government partnerships for sustainable AI growth and innovation.
How MAAIP Started
In early 2024 a small group of peers in the field of artificial intelligence recognized a profound gap. Manitoba, ripe with AI talent and potential, lacked a formal congregation for its AI professionals. There was no beacon for government agencies or industry players seeking AI insights, and the voice for AI advocacy remained silent. It was this realization that sparked the inception of the Manitoba Association of AI Professionals (MAAIP).
Founded on the collective ambition of these few, MAAIP is building the cornerstone for the AI community that has since existed in the shadows. The founders, driven by a shared commitment to foster a united AI community, envisioned an organization that would nurture connections, inspire growth, and serve as the guiding light for AI endeavors in Manitoba.
From this seed of unity, MAAIP sprouted and is rapidly growing into the province’s premier AI institution. It’s goal is to become the hub where innovation is cultivated, knowledge is shared, and advocacy is pursued with vigor. MAAIP now stands as the fulcrum for AI professionals across Manitoba, offering a home for dialogue, development, and discovery in the dynamic landscape of artificial intelligence. Through MAAIP, Manitoba’s AI community has not only found its voice but has also taken an assertive step toward shaping the future of technology in the province and beyond.
